We
are blessed this year to have a few new trainers joining MBFO! The
fabulous, PEPSI COOK, formerly with the Petco training program! By the way, Pepsi does some pet sitting for
now too! We also have an incredible
intern and training assistant from the Animal Behavior College, Babett Off, who will also help Kylie in
the office a bit when she can’t be here!
MEGHAN FORNELLI, who has been helping in the office all year already
with maintaining our database and filing! I know they will be incredible assets
to our program…
Sadly,
Laura Thomas, will be heading onto her own pursuits in the New Year, she let us
know that she won’t be teaching any classes except for her ongoing, donation
based, Confirmation Handling class at Balboa Park. She won’t be a stranger. She will continue to work thru MBFO with her
current students as long as they need her. Pepsi will be taking over Laura’s
Saturday Tarzana Park class and Wednesday night class at Northridge Pampered
Pet for both Beginning and Intermediate level training!
Don’t worry,
we still have an incredible trainer who can help with Handling, Confirmation,
Rally, Agility and Competition Obedience stuff…the amazing, Katie McGuire, her
reputation in the industry (not to mention her incredibly well trained dogs)
precede her! She has been talking about doing an Intro to Agility class at
Pampered Pet so stay tuned!
Bobby
is still the King of Puppies, and has helped hundreds get off to a great start
in 2014! Don’t forget his awesome
LIFESKILLS class … for when you just need a bit more help to BUMP up beginning
skills but you aren’t quite ready for intermediate class. He is in the valley most Saturdays and Monday
and Thursday but also has his own dog training company in Playa Vista!
Kylie
is still trying to hold down the fort by handling the Bookkeeping and learning
dog training skills with her new dog Triumph!
She has had many challenges this year getting in the way of work and
training! We are very thankful she has
been able to continue on in spite of that!
It hasn’t been an easy year for her, but she remains diligent in her
pursuits!
Kelly Gordon has been super helpful as well…
interning in her spare time! She mainly
works at Pampered Pet Hotel helping your dog’s play all day, but she is also
coming into her own as a trainer which is really helpful at work, in addition
to her Pet Sitting! To be continued ;-)
We
have been lucky enough to be associated with some wonderful humans and dogs
over the years! You know who you are! Some have worked here, long term or short
term, helped out in a pinch, or helped train dogs. Some have been fabulous training, boarding
and pet sitting clients. Some who are
nearly trainers in their own right after all their work with their own dogs…some
who have gone on to be trainers! Some
have become competitors, some have competed with their dogs! Some are veterinarians, some are groomers, some
do dog boarding and/or pet sitting, and some do combinations of those! Some are family, or friends of family, or
family of friends…or just friends! Some
just come to walk, others to talk, or eat or drink… some just call for advice…
some to give it!
Thank
you, each and every one of you, and your dogs, for your dedication, devotion
and love and support! Our hearts are
filled with gratitude for your trust in us, and want you to know that! Truly and sincerely, from the bottom of our
hearts we thank you for what you have given us… the chance to truly shine at
what we do best! Thank you for allowing
us to be part of your experience, we are truly honored and hope you continue to
allow us to do so!

Bobby just started a
Monday night, Woodland Hills Pampered Pet, Puppy group on 12/8/14 and you can
still join or wait until halfway on 12/29 and pay half price! TWO CHANGES since our last mailer, Tarzana
class moved to 1/10 instead of 1/17 and pup party moved to 1/24 instead of
1/17. MLK WEEKEND THERE WILL BE NO
CLASSES OR PUP PARTY DUE TO THE DOG SHOW IN VENTURA…WINTERFEST, COME AND WATCH
OUR STUDENTS AND TRAINERS COMPETE AND ENJOY THE SHOW!
THE MONTHLY Puppy Party, Saturday 12/20 at 3:30 for shy
pups or pups under 5.5 months, and at 4:30 for more exuberant pups over 6
months is on 12/20, hosted by Bobby at Pampered Pet Hotel in Woodland
Hills! (Postponed from last Saturday at
Karen’s)! If you are planning to attend, you must have an invite and pups must
be healthy with clear fecal test, flea free, no diarrhea and at least two sets

levels are freepeat for life! To
maintain the privilege you must have 75% attendance, even If you are repeating
the course. However, if you do need to
drop due to unforeseen circumstances, AND YOU CALL OR EMAIL TO LET US KNOW, it
is only half price to rejoin! (See Know
the Rules in the yellow folder, it is also spelled out in the training contract
and on our website). If you cannot make
a class you can always do a private make up for a fee, or join another group
running at the same time as yours for free, to get caught up!

We do boarding and training at Pampered Pet Hotel, and sometimes in home
with one of our trainers, using the latest positive reinforcement training
methods available, without needing to always have treats! Call us and discover the possibilities!

This is the class you take
after beginning obedience class where you just didn’t practice enough with
distractions and you need to nail down walking without pulling and stays with
stuff going on around your dog! We will do at least one

Your dog must be able to
sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, loose leash walk, no jumping, and heeling with
distractions to join this group (intermediate level training completed), or
have permission from one of our trainers, to join the Growly class.
Understanding of how to use a clicker (or marker) is also required.
Usually this class is a culmination of private training to deal with
reactivity issues.
GROWLY CLASS (CONTINUING) (6 weeks $120)
Great class for Snarky dogs
to socialize under control (not off leash) with other like-minded dogs in a
group! These dogs must have completed Intro to growly or worked on issues
privately with an approved trainer and must have intermediate level obedience
skills! (Intro class is on 9/10... $50)!!!
