Oops! In my last email I said that Pepsi had an
Intermediate class Sunday at 7:15, it is supposed to be at 6:00pm! No worries though…we are postponing until April
due to low enrollment. Other options for
Intermediate class are listed below!
Another Oops! On our calendar it stated that Monday Morning
class in West Van Nuys began on 3/16… Due
to rain we had to move the start date to 3/23/14! I am so sorry I didn’t change it on the on
the calendar too…it was correct on our class list!
Third time is the charm they say… our
calendar, a second CGC Testing date of 3/22 “appeared” we are not doing CGC
testing on 3/22! we did, however, do testing on 3/8 and had a BUNCH of
Certificate earners!!!

Beginning Obedience at 7:45pm, w/Bobby 3/16/15 night at Pampered Pet Hotel …There is still
space available!!!
Puppy Party at Karen’s place is now 3:30 and 4:30 again instead of 3:15

take after beginning obedience class where you just didn’t practice enough with
distractions and you need to nail down walking without pulling and stays with

Your dog must be able
to sit, down, stay, come, leave-it, loose leash walk, no jumping, and heeling
with distractions to join this group (intermediate level training completed),
or have permission from one of our trainers, to join the Growly class.
Understanding of how to use a clicker (or marker) is also required.
Usually this class is a culmination of private training to deal with
reactivity issues.
GROWLY CLASS (CONTINUING) (6 weeks $120)
Great class for
REACTIVE dogs to socialize under control of their owners (not off leash), with
similar dogs in a group! These dogs must have completed Intro to growly or
worked on issues privately with an approved trainer AND must have intermediate
level obedience skills!
(The
one time Intro class is on 1/20/15 for $50)!!!

Remember that Beginner (and Intermediate prior to 1/1/15) level(s) are freepeat
for life! To maintain the privilege you must have 75% attendance, even If
you are repeating the course. However, if you do need to drop due to
unforeseen circumstances, AND YOU CALL OR EMAIL TO LET US KNOW, it is only half
price to rejoin! (See Know the Rules in the yellow folder, it is also
spelled out in the training contract and on our website). If you cannot
make a class you can always do a private make up for a fee, or join another group
running at the same time as yours for free, to get caught up!

WE DO PRIVATE SESSIONS FOR
EVERYTHING from A to Z concerning dog training, agility, AKC rally, therapy
dog, confirmation, obedience, aggression, behavior modification, destruction, POTTY TRAINING and other Puppy issues, FEAR, AGGRESSION Problems, OBEDIENCE
issues, Separation Anxiety, Social Skills with people and dogs, off leash
training, obsessive
compulsive behavior, barking, fear, jumping, you name it …. Please ask for a
full price list (prices as low as 70 per session, up to 120)

training methods available, without needing to always have treats! Call

BOARDING AND TRAINING IS AVAILABLE FOR PUPS at My
Best Friend and Dogs at Pampered Pet Hotel when appropriate, we also do
socialization training at PAMPERED PET HOTEL for proper candidates who need a
little extra help, to get into daycare for only $65. We are available at other facilities as well,
with permission from the facility, on request!
2015 CHANGES are:
Intermediate
class: Now offered at $135.00 instead
of $190!
That includes the cost
of CGC testing! Sadly, with the lower class fee we can no longer offer
Freepeat for life at this level. Beginning Freepeats will still be
offered and will not change. Arrangements can be made, in advance, due to
illness or hardship, and with prior approval from My Best Friend Obedience, you
may be allowed to transfer to, or join, a different class. Otherwise you
can redo a class for half price if you need more practice at that level… (Not
applicable to Growly, Rally, Focus, High Energy or Advanced .. or any other
continuation classes). You must let us know so we can try to accommodate
you! We continue to strive to bring you the best for you and your
dog! Many of you wanted to spend less, money for training so we
listened! If there is enough demand we may add an “Insurance” option for
intermediate class which would function similar to Freepeats, in addition to
half price offering! Anyone who already
had Intermediate Freepeats and paid $190 is “grandfathered” in will always keep
them unless they don’t follow the “rules” as outlined in our materials.
PUPPY CLASS: starting February 1 changing from a 6 week course at $120 to a 4 week course at $95!
Any PUPPY
HEADSTART classes starting after 2/1/15 will be 4 week!
HEALTH UPDATE:
if you dog has
the “runs” (you know, diarrhea) please get it checked out by taking a stool
sample less than 2 hours old to the vet to check for parasites. Parasites are often undetected in egg form
and can but hard to completely get rid of, even with treatment. We don’t want you to share anything with any
of the other dogs… so do your part, get a stool test done! They are required for class with us at the
puppy level and for puppy parties. And
PLEASE CHECK FOR FLEAS! All dogs must be
on flea prevention for class! Thanks so
